Foundations of Chinese Medicine Group
This group of ten 5-hour classes provides the participant with a solid foundation in the theories of Chinese medicine, and acupuncture. The Foundations of Chinese Medicine, by Giovanni Maccocia, upon which this group of courses is based, is the most commonly used text on Chinese medicine in acupuncture schools and colleges around the world, and is a main text recommended by the NBCE for exam preparation. The participant in this group of courses, learns to assess patients according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and form traditional diagnoses for digestive, respiratory, urogenital, women’s health, and other internal disorders. Treatment principles, suggestions for points, treatment techniques, and even some herbal medicine, are addressed in many instances.
Exam Prep
This 2-hour course reviews the material needed to prepare for a national board exam in acupuncture, such as those offered by the NBCE and the ABCA/CCA. For easy access to additional study, participants desiring a more in-depth review of any specific topic covered in this exam prep course, are referred throughout, to specific online courses addressing each topic.
